variance is the word poker players use to account for the ups and downs of their career. and thursday was definitely a down day in the variance realm. i played 23 tournaments and only cashed in 6 of them. it actually pushed me below even for the month so i have to get up tomorrow and start back in. the good news is that this is an expected part of poker and this is why you have to have an appropriate sized bankroll to withstand days like this. some pros have talked about how they have a losing session for an entire month or an entire year. lets hope it doesn't last that long.
no real bad beat stories or anything that i can point to as the culprit of the day - just seemed to be the way of the tables. i did manage to string three of those cashes together for a nice little run, but that was about it.
in order to be successful, i have to be able to handle these types of days - so im chalking this one up to variance and calling it a night.
peace and love and happiness to all
