im convinced its because i moved down to a lower buyin. i actually dropped all the way to the $3.40 games. im cashing much more often (so far today in about 50% 0f my games) and most of my cashes are coming at 1st or second place. also when i dont make the money usually im on the bubble in 4th or 5th (the 9 and 10 person tourneys only pay 3 spots). i have come to realize that sometimes there is just nothing you can do to get a person off their hand. especially at these smaller levels, but ive also been surprised at some of the folds ive seen. there are def. a few sharks in these levels too. i just finished reading a sit-n-go strategy book. id say i already knew and am hopefully executing about 90% fairly well already. there were a couple of things that made me go hhmm, thats the last 10% i'll be trying to keep in mind while im playing. the great thing about single table tourneys is that they pay 33% of the field, while in other tourneys they only pay 10% usually and you can finish them relatively quickly.
i love the end of the tourney when it gets really aggressive. short handed play is the strongest part of my game, i think. also, ive gotten heads up and come from a decent sized deficit a couple of times to win and thats always a good boost. interestingly enough, you can get a sense of who is better and who is worse than you. and its helpful to pick on the ones that you think are a worse player than you.
some other great news on the personal front. the police have arrested the man who attacked my friend and feel good about getting a conviction. she is amazingly strong and is doing great. ty for the thoughts and prayers.
gotta run im second in chips and we're down to 5.
peace and love and happiness to all
kk
ps. just finished tourney and won it!! feels good to be on track. i am aware that it could be normal variance accounting for the good month, but im winning more and i still feel card dead, so that has to account a little for skill right? til next time.

Glad to hear they caught the creep. String him up! What level Sit N' Go are you playing? I was contemplating moving to single table play.
playing mostly 3.40 10 person turbos right now.
That's what I was thinking of jumping into. What's your screen name? (so I'll know if I run into you).
screen name is kajakah. how's the job search going for you? any luck?
The market's completely dry right now. The only thing pending is in NC, and I don't want to move. Will look for you online.
Cashed in three of the five $3 + .40 cent sit n' gos I played in today. (and in one game, I was busted out the A-10 suited by a guy who went all -in through the first five sets of blinds - crazy MF caught a flush after shoving with 64 off suit). Good times!
